Improving the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch with iPhone OS4
Apple has already moved onto the iPhone OS4, even though iPad apps are the biggest thing to most people right now. Apple will preview or give a "sneak peak" this Thursday at the Apple headquarters. Don't worry about getting no credit check personal loans to fund your tech addiction yet, though - nothing but the fact there will be an iPhone OS4 is official yet.
iPhone, iPad and iPod will all operate on OS4
The iPhone isn't the only device that will run the iPhone OS4. The iPad runs the iPhone OS as well. This will be the first OS update to the iPhone since the iPad has been released. Nobody is sure yet what changes the iPhone OS4 will include, but it is sure there will be some big ones.
Will the iPad benefit from the iPhone OS4?
The iPhone OS3 currently runs the newly-released iPad. The iPhone OS also runs iPad apps. The biggest pre-release complaint about the iPad is that users could not multi-task. The rumor mill says that the iPhone OS4 may include multi-tasking based on Apple's Expose. An update like this would allow multiple iPad apps to run. For instance, OS4 may allow you to run iPad debt consolidation app while using your Twitter iPad app at the same time.
When should I expect the iPhone OS4?
Of course, the Apple iPhone OS4 details won't be known before the announcement event. Based on the release of the Apple iPhone OS3, we will probably be waiting a while for the release of Apple iPhone OS4. OS3 was previewed in March, but wasn't released until June. Your Apple iDevices most likely won't be running Apple iPhone OS4 until very late summer.
