Samsung ML 2250 - Keep Your Bank Account Thick
Many home or small offices do not require a printer that has all of the bells and whistles that come standard with many laser printers. These home or small offices don't require the Rolls Royce of printers they simply require a Volkswagen. The Samsung ML-2250 is the Volkswagen of laser printers. Connections to the ML-2250 are quick and easy through use of either parallel or USB ports. Options for the ML-2250 include both Wi-FI and network cards should they be desired. The ML-2250, combines low initial purchase price along with a low per page cost for printing.
Paper stock should never be a concern with the ML-2250. To go along with the standard 2250 sheet tray, an optional stock tray is available. This tray also holds 2250 stock sheets. Should envelopes or other media need to be printed, the manual feed tray can hold them or an additional 50 sheet supply. Any sized print job can be completed with the ML-2250 in minimum time. Printing time for an average sheet is 17 pages per minute. Detailed printing can be selected with print quality variable from 600X600dpi to 1200X1200dpi.
Small office and home office owners are constantly seeking to reduce costs. One of the methods of reducing cost is to not purchase unneeded items. These unneeded items can include options on a printer that the owner has no significant use for. The ML-2250 has been designed with a minimum of options and simply puts out quality printing in a minimum time at a low cost. Most laser printers utilize separate toner and drum assemblies. The life of the toner and the drum differs; consequently the possibility of lower quality printed pages is possible when one item runs out before the other. The printer driver is easily installed on the Windows platform and all the "normal" functions, watermarks, overlays and multi page printing are supplied. Should the home office be utilizing a Linux platform, drivers for this platform are supplied also. The only drawback to the ML-2250 is the lack of duplex printing. Should both sides of the page need to be printed, the paper will have to be reinserted with the correct side up.
All documents that are printed do not need to be high quality documents. The documents that are required for review or editing can often be printed at a lower print quality. To enable this Samsung included a toner saver setting on the ML-2250. When a document is printed in this mode the quality of the document is reduced however for work that is accomplished by the staff a presentation document is unnecessary and a waste of money.
The Samsung ML-2250 fits a precise need in the home office. A somewhat basic machine that is economical to operate ($0.015/ page) that provides rapid clear print quality. The ML-2250 may not provide all of the options that are on other printers, however the initial cost of the printer reflects its economy. A single Samsung ML 2250 printer toner cartridge/drum cartridge reduces the amount of Samsung ML 2250 printer toner cartridge that are required to be maintained on hand and this further reduces the cost of operating the ML-2250.
